Hello: I need to know IF I am even on the correct field. I live in south Ga. and would like to find an agency that can promote a NEW ARTIST. This person works in watercolors, and does bautiful landscapes with moutains, and waterfalls. He is an UNKNOWN artist. Although he has sold a few pieces, he has never been in a big show, and his name is NOT known. I know he needs promotion, but I do not know HOW to do this. We are low middle class as far as money goes, so we have little to spend on promotion. We would be willing to try to pull some money together to get started. Then as his work sells we would be willing to put back money from that to pay for continued promotion & advertising. He has numerous paintings, but no where here in Valdosta to present them b/c I do not know HOW to present him. His paintings are various sizes from 8×10′s to
murial sizea.
Please reply a.s.a.p. with some suggestions.

Nice to hear from you. Your on the right track by trying to figure out cost effective ways to promote this new artist!
One of the things I would like to know is if you already have a website? Next, it sounds like you’re willing to promote him nationwide and not just locally in Valdosta. This is good because this allows you to get more exposure.
For new artists what I recommend is to find out how many people are currently looking for his services online. Then you can put your message in front of them while they’re looking. It’s always easier to promote someone with people who are already Interested in you opposed to trying to convince someone that they should be interested. Since the Internet is nationwide as well as world wide, I’m confident that there are more than enough people who will allow him to get proper exposure.
Then you would also want to find the customers who are looking for him offline. When I talk about offline I mean local business print directories.
Also, I would need to get more detailed information such as your website, or if you don’t have a website give me a couple names of people who do the same thing as he does.
Great discussion going on here. I also agree that having a website is the first step in promoting on Internet. Without a site it will be a tough ask to promote someone.
